Definition: Exploring phenomena dismissed by mainstream science. Reshaping the boundary between accepted reality and the unexplained.
On July 14, 2015, the New Horizons spacecraft flew past Pluto at a distance of about 12,500 kilometres. The images sent back to Earth showed a world that was not frozen solid and silent: mountains several kilometres high, a nitrogen plain thousands of kilometres wide, long fractures, and a bright heart-shaped region. Beneath that ice, geological data also point to liquid water.
On 2 March 1972, NASA launched Pioneer 10 away from Earth. Attached to its body was a gold-anodized aluminium plaque showing a man, a woman, a map of the Solar System, and the location of Earth. Yet former U.S. personnel from the 1960s and 1970s said that unusual signals appeared above ground just before missiles lost power or entered a no-launch state.
In 2003, heavy rain opened a sinkhole beneath the Temple of the Feathered Serpent at Teotihuacan in Mexico. Archaeologists found the entrance to a tunnel about 103 metres long and 18 metres below ground. It led to three chambers sealed for centuries. In 2015, Sergio Gómez’s team found a small amount of liquid mercury at the deepest point, along with pyrite that could reflect light and thousands of offerings.
On the evening of 15 August 1977, Ohio State University’s Big Ear telescope scanned the sky as usual. It was not taking pictures. It was listening to narrow radio channels for a signal that might come from another civilisation. An IBM 1130 computer recorded intensity in 12-second intervals and printed symbols on paper.

In 1999, scientist David Stevenson published a model that reverses the usual search for life. An Earth-sized planet could be thrown out of its star system by a gravitational encounter while keeping water and a thick hydrogen atmosphere. Its surface would freeze in darkness. Beneath the ice, heat from the interior and the atmosphere could keep water liquid.
By the late 1970s, astronomers had found that the Milky Way and many nearby galaxies were not merely following the expansion of the universe. They also had a shared peculiar velocity, a motion that carried them in one broad direction as if a very large region of mass were pulling them away from the ordinary expansion. That direction lies near the Milky Way’s plane, where dust, gas, and millions of stars hide much of the sky behind us. The name Great Attractor emerged from this pattern: a gravitational centre that cannot be seen directly but leaves a mark in the way galaxies move.
Between 1981 and 1985, people in Norway's Hessdalen Valley sometimes reported strange lights as often as 20 times a week. The lights appeared low over the valley as points or spheres, moved slowly, changed color, and vanished. This is not a single edited video from the internet. In 1984, a field team worked for 18 days and recorded 53 phenomena with cameras, radar, magnetometers, infrared viewers, Geiger counters, lasers, and seismographs.

In 1960, physicist Freeman Dyson proposed a way to search for extraterrestrial civilizations without waiting for a greeting. If a civilization used much of a star's energy, it could place many collecting stations in orbit around that star. Visible light would be blocked in part. The captured energy would ultimately leave as heat, so telescopes could find an unusually bright infrared source.
On 20 July 1969, Apollo 11 broadcast images of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walking on the Moon. From then until 1972, six crewed Apollo missions landed there, returned lunar samples to Earth, placed equipment on the surface, and left laser reflectors behind. On 19 October 2017, the Pan-STARRS telescope in Hawaii detected an object leaving the Solar System. It was named ʻOumuamua, meaning “a messenger arriving from far away” in Hawaiian. Its path did not close around the Sun. It entered from interstellar space, passed through the inner Solar System, and continued outward. It was the first confirmed object known to have come from another star system.

Still, it describes an underwater person with language, technology, and knowledge rather than an animal glimpsed from a ship.
