Mexico’s Congress and Two “Alien Mummies”: A Disclosure Staged as Evidence

On 12 September 2023, at the San Lázaro Legislative Palace in Mexico City, a journalist named Jaime Maussan opened two boxes in front of lawmakers. Inside were two small figures with elongated heads and three fingers on each hand. Maussan said they had been found underground in Peru, were about a thousand years old, and did not belong to human evolution. X-ray images appeared on a screen. The phrase “alien bodies” travelled around the world within hours.

This was not a private show. It took place during a public hearing about unidentified anomalous aerial phenomena. On 1 September, the Mexican Chamber of Deputies had announced the event together with Maussan and lawmaker Sergio Gutiérrez Luna. The announcement said the meeting would explore legislation for the phenomenon and quoted Maussan saying that Mexico could become the first country to tacitly accept the presence of non-human beings on Earth.
