In 2025, the Hong Kong Police Organized Crime and Triad Bureau (OCTB) ran Operation Thunderbolt with police authorities in Guangdong and Macao. The operation arrested 4,140 people and seized crime proceeds worth more than 500 million Hong Kong dollars. Undercover operations that year raided private gambling rooms, drug dens and vice premises, arrested 428 people, and took more than 17.5 million dollars in cash, about 4.4 kilograms of drugs, weapons, and items tied to drugs, gambling and prostitution.
