Betty Andreasson: The Pink Light, Black-Eyed Beings, and Locked Memory

On the night of 25 January 1967, Betty Andreasson was in the kitchen of her home in South Ashburnham, Massachusetts, with her parents and seven children. The lights went out. A pulsing red-orange light appeared outside, followed by what Betty described as a silent vacuum over the house. Her memory then broke apart. She remembered moving the children into the living room, and then suddenly finding herself back in the kitchen facing short beings.

Ten years later, UFO investigator Raymond Fowler began working with Betty and her family. Hypnotic regression opened a much longer account: large-headed beings with dark eyes, communication without spoken words, a physical examination, a craft, a journey Betty linked to religious images, and a blue book exchanged for the family Bible. The Center for UFO Studies also recorded that Betty’s daughter Becky remembered part of what happened in the living room.
