Kelly-Hopkinsville: Four Hours of Gunfire and the Encounter Turned into a Goblin Story

At about 7 p.m. on 21 August 1955, Billy Ray Taylor walked to the well behind the Sutton farmhouse near Kelly, Kentucky. He saw a glowing object fly low and descend behind a line of trees. About 45 minutes later, the people inside heard the dog barking violently. A small human-shaped figure, less than four feet tall, came out of the darkness.

The Sutton family and their friend Taylor said they fired at the figures repeatedly for almost four hours. Bullets knocked them down or sent them tumbling, but left no blood or body. The figures returned to the windows, roof, and yard, raised their hands, looked through the glass, and disappeared into the dark. Around 11 p.m., eleven adults and children drove to the Hopkinsville police station.
