Men in Black: The Visitors Who Arrive After a UFO Testimony and Make It Disappear

On the afternoon of 21 June 1947, Harold Dahl was patrolling Puget Sound in Washington State. He said he saw six round objects over Maury Island. One descended and released hot fragments that looked metallic. Dahl said a piece damaged his boat, injured his son and killed his dog. The next day, a man in a dark suit met him at a diner. The stranger knew what Dahl had seen before Dahl repeated the story. He told Dahl to stay quiet and warned that his family would suffer if he kept talking.

This is the first story to join a UFO with someone who recovers testimony. The visitor gave no name, badge or summons. He appeared at the exact moment a witness had an object, fragments and a story that could reach a newspaper. Later accounts called such visitors the Men in Black. They arrive after a UFO report, ask questions an outsider should not know, demand photographs or material, and leave the witness frightened enough to withdraw.
