On May 9, 2001, a room at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. hosted an unusual public briefing. Steven Greer and the Disclosure Project placed more than twenty former military officers, intelligence staff, aviation employees, engineers, and researchers in front of cameras. They asked Congress to hold hearings on UFOs, non-human technology, and programmes that the U.S. government had never explained to the public.

The briefing was not simply a collection of lights seen in the sky. Its speakers connected three sets of events: a civilian airliner followed by an unknown object while its records were allegedly taken away; nuclear-missile officers who said their launch systems went offline when an unknown object appeared; and later intelligence officials who described a decades-long programme to recover crashed craft and reproduce their technology. This chain leads to the conclusion the video wants the viewer to consider: the government did not merely know about UFOs. It kept evidence and technology outside normal congressional oversight.
