Liangzhu is a Neolithic site in Anhui Province, eastern China. It developed over 5,000 years ago, before familiar dynasties emerged. Archaeologists found tombs, structures, and many intricately crafted jade pieces. Most notable is a square jade piece placed with a jade turtle. The piece features a central figure, a surrounding circle, eight directions, and marks at four corners.
