On May 1, 1995, a summary of the Star Gate program recorded a test that sounds like science fiction but reads like office work. Five military organizations had sent requests. Three full-time government remote viewers had produced reports. The program had collected 99 ratings for accuracy and 100 ratings for value. From 1986 through the first quarter of fiscal year 1995, operational military organizations had submitted more than 200 tasks. The surviving record is not an Internet legend. It is an account of a defense bureaucracy trying to measure an unusual claim.
